Nobody counts the number of ads you run; they just remember the impression you make.

Ads on search engines & Social Media

Ads on search engines (Pay Per Click method)
Ads can be in the form of text or a banner. Ads on search engines are in the form of text. Let’s take Google as an example. Google has a service called AdWords. Subscription is free. After this you can start creating your campaign. Here you can learn how to do this. To summarize, you will need to choose the country that you will be targeting, the keywords that are relevant to your target and a sentence of not more than 95 characters. Every time someone searches for a keyword from your list, your advertisement may show up at the top, on the side or on the bottom of the page. How many times your advertisement will be shown and where on the page depends mainly on how popular your advertisement is. This also determines the cost of your bid; more people clicking on your advertisement will lower the cost per bid. The price per bid starts at 0.01 cents and can go up to a couple of dollars per bid. This is what you pay for each time someone clicks on your ad.
The three most used search engines are Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Social media (Pay Per Click Method)
Just as with search engines, you have free and paid advertisements with social media. The free way is to have followers or friends who you can inform when you have, for example, a special offer.
The other way is by putting advertisements on social media. Social media doesn’t use keywords, so you can’t narrow down your audience as specifically as with search engines, but it is a good way to let the world know about your website and this is also a great way to get followers.
Among the most popular social media are Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus and LinkedIn. To give you a head start, I have some links on how to build your business page and promote it on these websites.
